Good Morning America
Good Morning America,
Your kids are scattered across the earth.
Not sure if you’re my mother.
I was kidnapped at birth.
They fed me chocolate milk and soda.
I was never nursed.
Sent to play amongst stray bullets.
A cold world, I was immersed.
Good Morning America,
I’m being treated like a stepchild.
They said my daddy wasn’t worthwhile.
He’s been incarcerated for awhile.
With a bunch of men that look like him,
I think we’re being profiled.
It’s a “school to prison pipeline”,
Starting when we are juveniles.
Good Morning America,
1% of the population hold 15 times more wealth
Then the bottom 50% combined.
This is happening in America
How’s this not a crime?
How does God bless America, intertwine or align?
Poor schools, Poor education,
Can’t escape even when trying!
That’s why it’s called the trap
A way out is hard to find!
Good Morning America,
Did I say that already?
Or did I start with something too heavy
For which you weren’t ready?
Two America’s exist, one not too pretty,
Don’t ask what I can do for you.
That’s being really petty.
I want to know what you will do for me?
Since you’ve gotten 400 years of free labor already.
