Black Ink by Jabari Khalfani
Jabari Khalfani splashes the ink of his Black consciousness on the white pages of America. Black Ink the inked experiences of an African American Male. A poet who provides vividly striking images of his world and the justice and equality that it lacks.
Can I just focus on being great?
Without being the focus
Of your stereotypes and hate?
Focused on beating odds
Many brothers didn’t beat
Trying to stay out of the focus
Of Guns and police.
Yet this forcefulness is graciously balanced with passionate energy emphasizing the importance of Black love.
Excited from the touch
lips begin to brush,
sensations rush,
manhood
mans up.
